A very comfortable shoe when worn barefeet, which I like to do in summer and on warmer days, or with thin dress or silk socks. Drawback, the material lets your feet evtl get a bit too hot ( at the end of the day ) but you do not want to switch the insole for another one, since the insole coming with the shoes is extremely comfortable and also give good arch support, and is very soft on the heel. If I was to use them for cooler weather, or wanted to add a sheepskin or memory fowm insole I would go up half a size up, to 92E, since the 8.5 2E do fit a bit smaller than the size normally would IMO.I have had 2 pr of Aetrex shoes that I loved. This pair is sloppy, does not slip on and off easily and is kind of a grandma shoe. It is made of spongy material, not leather as I had in the past. Expensive and disappointed. Wish they still carried the kind I like.Based on previous reviews, I ordered these shoes for my 88 year old Aunt who lives in a nursing home. The box they arrived in was torn and looked used. Although I was embarrassed at the condition, I gave them to her anyway because I did not want to go to her party empty handed. The shoes were about a half size too small so I returned them. Today I received those same shoes back from FootSmart telling me they would not credit my account because I did not return them in "new" condition, when in fact I returned them in exactly the same condition in which I received them. They did offer me a discount on new merchandise if my purchase totaled $60 or more! Although I have ordered merchandise from FootSmart directly or through Amazon for years, I will not purchase anything from them in the future.Searched for quite a while to find these. They are comfortable with enough space for a foot brace. Has helped my mother avoid the many falls she was having. Of course, wearing them more often would increase their effectiveness!Great shoe, but runs a bit short. Shoe is very easy to get on and provides good support.Shoes fit well. A more streamlined elegant look would be welcome.This shoes is not clunky or bulky in appearance but provide a stable sole and "platform" for walking. It has a soft toe box so is perfect for bunions. I wear it with the aertrex insole and am have happy feet all day. It runs true to size and width.
