These shorts are amazingly comfortable and the pockets are a huge bonus (most women's casual shorts don't have pockets). I was torn between getting a medium or a large. Went with large and am still torn if it's the right size. It's a tad large but not like I'm swimming in them (mostly the large part is around the thighs). The medium might have been a tad too snug in the waist. Time will tell as to whether they will shrink or stretch out so I'll update the review if that is a factor. They are so comfy though. I bought them purely to wear at home (I work from home). I do love that they have an elastic waistband AND drawstring. For reference, I'm 5'9" and 155 lbs. The large is a loose fit but not oversized. The waist is snug but not so that it's uncomfortable (fits right). The leg openings are very loose (and I don't have skinny thighs). The fabric is so soft!
